Aceh Prosecutor's Office Examines 6 Witnesses For Alleged Corruption In Cattle Procurement

BANDA ACEH - Prosecutors of the Aceh High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) examined six witnesses of alleged corruption in the procurement of cattle at the Southeast Aceh Regency Agriculture Service for the 2019 budget year with a value of Rp. 2 billion.

Head of the Information and Legal Section of the Aceh Attorney General's Office, Munawal Hadi, said the examination was to complete the case file which is now in the investigation stage.

"The six witnesses were asked for information to complete the case file. The position of the case has been upgraded to the investigation stage, but investigators have not yet named the suspect," said Munawal Hadi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 17.

Munawal Hadi said the six witnesses had the initials IS, AY, AS, and SUD. The four witnesses are temporary breeders for the procurement of 200 cattle.

As well as two other witnesses with the initials WEL as the Secretary of the Work Result Recipient Team (PPHP) for cattle procurement and SY as the Director of CV M. CV M is a company that participated in the auction for the procurement of 200 cattle.

Previously, said Munawal Hadi, investigators examined and asked for information from two Southeast Aceh Regency Government officials regarding the alleged corruption crime being investigated.

The two officials, with the initials JM, are members of the VII ULP Election Working Group for the Procurement of Goods/Services for the Southeast Aceh Regency Government.

"And ZF as the Expenditure Treasurer at the Southeast Aceh Regency Agriculture Service. Both were examined and questioned as witnesses," said Munawal Hadi.

Munawal Hadi said that the procurement of cattle was managed by the Southeast Aceh Regency Agriculture Service in the 2019 budget year with a value of Rp. 2 billion. The cattle purchased from the procurement were 200 heads.

In the procurement, said Munawal Hadi, the implementation of the work is not from a good nursery and has a livestock health guarantee. As a result, many of the cows purchased are sick.

The examination and request for information, said Munawal Hadi, were carried out to find legal facts related to allegations of fraud in the procurement of cattle at the Southeast Aceh Regency Agriculture Service.

"The examination of the official witnesses was carried out by implementing strict health protocols, including wearing masks and maintaining distance," said Munawal Hadi.
