Floods In Bogor Regency Since Last Night, 3,200 Houses Have Been Submerged
JAKARTA - Heavy rains since yesterday night at around 22.30 WIB resulted in flooding in Bojong Kulur Village, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency, West Java.
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bogor Regency reported that the flood submerged 3,200 houses in flood which was also caused by the overflow of the Cileungsi River.
"The water flow of the Cileungsi River overflowed due to the rain. During the flood, the water level was monitored by about 130 to 160 centimeters," said Plt. Head of BNPB Disaster Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in his statement, Thursday, February 17.
Apart from houses, the flood also inundated public facilities, including 3 units of educational facilities and 6 units of places of worship. Abdul Muhari revealed, as many as 3,052 families or 11,208 people were affected and there were no reports of casualties.
Abdul Muhari revealed that the Bogor Regency BPBD was monitoring the water level (TMA) and coordinating with the Cileungsi Cikeas River Care Community (KP2C) regarding the dissemination of early warnings on flood alerts.
"During the handling of the emergency, TNI, Polri, related agencies and volunteers will help ensure the safety of the residents," he said. Abdul Muhari appealed to local governments and the public to remain vigilant and ready to anticipate and avoid the risk of flooding.
"Various efforts can be made collectively, such as collectively cleaning waterways or preparing safe temporary evacuation sites by implementing health protocols," he said.
