Traffic Flow In Jakarta Decreases, Police Name Three Causes
JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya noted a decrease in traffic flow in the Jakarta area in the last few days. The reason is starting from the application of Work From Home (WFH) and other rules related to the implementation of PPKM Level 3.
"Indeed, we can see a decrease in the volume of traffic flow in Jakarta in recent times," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Thursday, February 17.
Based on the data received, continued Sambodo, the percentage decrease in traffic flow varies. For data from Google Mobility, the decline is above 20 percent.
Then, based on data on vehicles passing at several toll gates, there was also a decrease of 14 percent.
"Judging from the total volume that crosses the toll gates in Halim, Cililitan and Tomang, last Monday compared to last Monday there was a varied decline, but the figure was 10 to 14 percent. Meanwhile on the Google Mobility Index, there was even a decline up to 22 percent," said Sambodo.
On the other hand, the cause of the decrease in traffic flow is due to the regulations that apply during the PPKM Level 3. For example, the application of WHF to the maximum limit of visitors in shopping places or malls.
"There has been a decrease in the volume of traffic at work because some companies may have implemented WFH," said Sambodo. decrease in the number of visitors," he continued.
Finally, the decrease in traffic flow was also due to several schools delaying the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM).
"Several schools are delaying the PTM again because there are some students who are positive for COVID-19. So it all affects the decrease in the amount of traffic volume in Jakarta," said Sambodo.
