Pamekasan Regency Government Gives Assistance To Heirs Of People With COVID-19

PAMEKASAN - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Pamekasan, Madura, East Java provided compensation to 88 heirs of COVID-19 sufferers during 2021.

According to the Public Relations Officer for the People's Welfare Section (Kesra) of the Pamekasan Regency Government, Gufron, the heirs of the COVID-19 sufferer who died who received the compensation, were buried using health protocols.

"The number of Pamekasan residents who were exposed to COVID-19 who died actually more than 88 people. What we give this compensation are those who are buried according to health protocols," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

He explained that the compensation given by the Pamekasan Regency Government was Rp. 2.5 million by being delivered directly to each victim's house.

During 2021, the Pamekasan Regency Government has distributed IDR 220 million, while the total budget issued through the Pamekasan Regency Welfare Section has reached 400 million.

"The amount of the budget is Rp. 400 million, including the cost of the patient's funeral," he said.

Gufron explained, during 2021, the Pamekasan Regency Government contracted six funeral attendants with a salary of IDR 2.5 million per month and transferred to their respective accounts.

"The honors they receive are flat, whether or not the patient dies, the six funeral officers are still given an honorarium of Rp. 2.5 million," he said.

Based on data from the COVID-19 Task Force of the Pamekasan Regency Government, the number of people who were positive for COVID-19 as of February 15, 2022, was 2,742 people, 2,469 people recovered, and 201 people died, with 72 active cases.
