Semarang PIP Official Becomes A Witness In The Trial Of The Death Of A Cadet Who Was Abused By A Senior

SEMARANG - The Head of the Center for Character Development of Cadets and Student Officers of the Semarang Maritime Science Polytechnic (PIP), Janny Adriani Djari, was examined as a witness in the trial of the death of Zidan Muhammad Faza after being assaulted by five senior cadets.

In a trial led by Chief Justice Arkanu at the Semarang District Court, the witness explained the rules for disciplinary development in the educational environment.

According to Janny, PIP prohibits the use of physical coaching, especially coaching that is done with physical contact.

Janny also admitted that she did not know about the physical training that senior cadets gave to their juniors.

"I don't know about the tradition of physical training and it's forbidden," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 16.

According to him, senior cadets do not have the authority to take disciplinary action against their juniors.

Janny also said that there were never any cadets who reported because they had received physical coaching by their seniors.

Meanwhile, another witness presented at the trial was Rif'an, the father of victim Zidan Muhammad Faza.

According to Rif'an, a colleague and one of the perpetrators gave false information about the death of his son.

Ri'fan admitted that he only found out about his son's death as a result of being abused by his seniors a few days after the incident.

According to him, the doctor at Roemani Hospital where his son was rushed for help had also stated that there were bruises on the chest and forehead.

"I didn't know about the tradition of physical training on campus and my son never talked about it," he said.

Five PIP Semarang cadets were charged with molesting to death Zidan Muhammad Faza, their junior cadet at the government-owned educational institution.

The five defendants were Caecar Richardo Bintang Samudra Tampubolon, Aris Riyanto, Andre Arsprilla Arief, Albert Jonathan Ompusungu, and Budi Dharmawan.
