Contrary To Anies, Airlangga Hartarto Insists That 50 Percent Of Offices Continue To Operate
JAKARTA - Positive cases of COVID-19 in the country continue to increase every day. Because of this, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has again implemented Large-Scale Social Restrictions or PSBB in the Capital City. Anies also banned work activities carried out from the office starting September 14.
However, the central government did not agree with the decision made by Anies. Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that not all workers can do work from home. Therefore, he suggested that 50 percent of the offices could still operate.
"We have conveyed that most of the office activities are flexible, about 50 percent at home and 50 percent in offices and 11 sectors remain open because DKI actually carries out the PSBB in full," he said, during the National Kadin Indonesia National Meeting, in Jakarta, Thursday, September 10.
According to Airlangga, DKI Jakarta has actually implemented a full PSBB from March to June, then implemented a transitional PSBB from July to early September. However, due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, DKI Jakarta plans to re-implement the full PSBB.
Furthermore, Airlangga said, the spread of COVID-19 in Jakarta occurred via public transportation. For this reason, Airlangga also asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to review the odd-even policy.
"DKI is actually carrying out a full PSBB, transition, and this wants to be done fully again. Because most of those who were exposed from the existing data, 62 percent (positive COVID-19 patients) at the Kemayoran Hospital were based on public transportation. with odd-even. This has been conveyed to the Governor of DKI, "he said.
As is known, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to pull the emergency brake in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The Large-Scale Social Restriction Regulations (PSBB) such as in the early March pandemic were re-implemented.
This means that with this policy, Jakarta will re-tighten restrictions on activities that were relaxed during the transition to PSBB. All sectors that were permitted under the provision of reduced capacity and other health protocols must be closed again.
However, there are 11 sectors that can be allowed to open. This is because they are considered important activities for the community to support their needs during this total PSBB period. Here's the list:
1. Health
2. Food / food / beverage ingredients
3. Energy
4. Communication and Information Technology
5. Finance
6. Logistics
7. Hospitality
8. Construction
9. Strategic Industries
10. Basic services, public utilities, and industries designated as national vital objects and certain objects.
11. Fulfillment of daily needs
