The Man Who Confessed as the Murderer of Metro TV Editor Was Arrested, but Apparently, He Isn't the Perpetrator
JAKARTA - The police had arrested someone who claimed to be the killer of Metro TV editor, Yodi Prabowo. He was arrested in the Riau area some times ago.
"Indeed, at that time, we arrested him. With the first consideration that the information was true, even though we believed it was not true," said Director of the Directorate of Criminal and Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Tubagus Ade Hidayat to reporters, Thursday, September 10.
Based on the results of the investigation, the person said that his confession about Yodi's murder was intended to threaten his colleague. Both of them were in an argument. The person was then arrested, but apparently, he had nothing to do with the murder of Yodi Prabowo.
"He was fighting with his friend. Then he said in a video 'you don't know who I am. I was involved in Yodi's murder'. That's the story," said Tubagus.
The video was shared with his family and Metro TV.
"We followed up and then arrested the person. We also incited Metro TV to come, but apparently, it wasn't true," said Tubagus.
Yodi was found dead on Friday, July 10, on the side of the JORR Toll Road, Ulujami, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta. Yodi was found dead after 3 days without news.
From the results of the examination, Yodi died from stab wounds to his chest and neck. Based on the results of the forensic laboratory examination of the knives, there were only fingerprints and DNA from Yodi.
So, for almost two weeks of investigations, the police concluded that Yodi Prabowo died as a result of suicide.
