Due To An Electric Short Circuit, A 2-story House Burned Down In Cakung

JAKARTA - The two-story house located on Jalan Bona, RT 07/05, Pgilan Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta was engulfed in flames on Wednesday, February 16, morning.

After receiving a fire report, the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. deployed seven fire engines to the location.

"We have dispatched 35 firefighters to the location of the fire. The fire was successfully extinguished at around 07.52 WIB," East Jakarta Head of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman told reporters on Wednesday, February 16.

From the results of the temporary investigation, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit.

"The cause was an electrical short in the two-story house. An electric spark occurred between the plugs on the second floor of the house," he said.

The owner of the house is known to be Khodijah. As a result of the fire incident, victims suffered losses of up to Rp 500 million.

"The area that was burned was about 50 square meters. There were no casualties. Meanwhile, 5 families with 25 people were saved," he said.
