Anies Will Have A Coordination Meeting Of Heads Of DKI Buffer Regions On Strict PSBB
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will hold a coordination meeting with several regional heads. The meeting discussed the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), which will be strictly enforced from Monday 14 September.
"So at 2 pm (Thursday, September 10) I invite the governor of West Java, the governor of Banten, then the mayor of Bekasi, the regent of Bekasi, the mayor of Bogor, the regent of Bogor, the mayor of Depok, the regent of Tangerang, the mayor of Tangerang and the mayor. South Tangerang, "Anies told reporters, Thursday, September 10.
The coordination meeting will discuss the issue of implementing the PSBB which does not only apply in Jakarta but in the buffer areas of the capital. So, the transmission of COVID-19 can be massively suppressed.
Moreover, many people who work in Jakarta are residents who live in buffer zones of the capital. However, Anies did not want to elaborate in detail about the material to be discussed at the coordination meeting.
"Now the format, the contents of the policy (policies) and others will only be discussed at 2 pm. I can say that there will be a meeting later," he said.
Previously, Anies Baswedan decided to pull the emergency brake regarding the current condition of the COVID-19 pandemic. Jakarta will re-implement Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) like the beginning of the pandemic.
"We agreed to pull the emergency brake," said Anies at a press conference, Wednesday, September 9.
This decision was taken at a Task Force meeting this afternoon. It is deemed necessary to tighten residents' activities given the increasing number of positive COVID-19 patients. Anies discussed the mortality rate as well as the level of use of space and mattresses for isolation handling COVID-19.
"So by looking at this emergency, there are not many options for Jakarta residents except pulling the emergency brake as soon as possible. It was decided that we would withdraw the emergency brake, which means that we are forced to re-apply the PSBB as it was at the beginning of the pandemic. It is no longer a transitional PSBB, but we are carrying out PSBB as it was in the early days, "said Anies.
