PPKM Level 3, Ambon City Government Tightens Supervision Of Crowded Places
AMBON - The Ambon City Government has again intensified surveillance in a number of public places and other crowded centers during the Level Three Implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).
"We will tighten operating hours and reduce capacity in a number of sectors," said Ambon Mayor Richard Louhenapessy as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 15.
Ambon City, Central Maluku Regency (Malteng), Aru Islands, and Southwest Maluku (MBD) are set to be included in the Implementation of Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Number 11 of 2022, which is effective from 15 – February 28, 2022.
One form of anticipation is to reactivate supervision of community economic activities. In this way, it is hoped that the increase in cases can be controlled by March 2022, he said.
"We will arrange economic activities, especially restaurants, cafes, restaurants according to the set operational time, which is at 21.00 WIT as well as the capacity of visitors," he said.
In addition to monitoring the operational time of economic activities, guard posts will also be activated at the entrances to the city of Ambon. Likewise, activities that have the potential to cause crowds will be limited to 50 percent capacity, he added.
"Automatically, the permit for crowds is limited again, it has been limited to 50 percent capacity, but we are not as strict as the Delta variant, which has a much more dangerous impact, but we still have to be vigilant," said the mayor.
This rule was emphasized by the Mayor of Ambon, which was enforced solely to protect the citizens of the city of Ambon from the ever-increasing spread of COVID-19 in the city of Ambon.
Data as of February 14, 2022, the number of positive confirmed cases reached 1,837 people and six of them died.
