Awaiting Griezmann's First Trophy In Catalan
BARCELONA - One of the main reasons Antoine Griezmann moved from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona last summer was to win more trophies. Now a number of questions arise, to what extent can the striker contribute?
During his time with Los Rojiblancos, Griezmann won the Supercopa de Espana, the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup. One additional trophy is in sight.
The old club and his current club will stab each other in the semi-finals of the Supercopa de Espana which will be held in Saudi Arabia in January. This is a great opportunity for Griezmann.
However, the 2018 World Cup winner with France will face tough challenges from his former colleagues such as Koke, Saul and Jan Oblak. They certainly will not give the trophy for free to Griezmann.
The problem is that throughout the 2019/20 season, Griezmann played less convincingly. The striker is also in the spotlight because he is not well connected to Lionel Messi.
In comparison, in the same period last season Griezmann scored six goals, while currently only four. In terms of bait also lost sharply; 595 to 529.
So far Griezmann has played in 15 matches with a total of 1,210 minutes. He started 14 times with the details of being one substitute (against Valladolid) and entered the squad but not played once (against Sevilla).
Of the four goals he scored all occurred in La Liga. The details, two goals against Real Betis, one goal against Villareal, and one goal against Eibar.
The question is, what can Griezmann do in this important party? Patience, he must prove himself first when Barcelona travel to the Wanda Metropolitano in La Liga Santander on 1 December.
