Losing Two Years In A Row, Dharma Jaya BUMD Urged To Immediately Make A Breakthrough
JAKARTA - BUMD Perumda Dharma Jaya reported that its company suffered losses for the second year in a row. This company owned by the DKI Provincial Government lost Rp. 17.6 billion in 2020 and Rp. 17.4 billion in 2021.
The main cause of losses experienced by Dharma Jaya was due to a decrease in people's purchasing power, so that their income also decreased and suffered losses.
Therefore, Commission B of the DKI DPRD asked this meat trading and industry company to make a breakthrough in order to generate profits after losing money.
Secretary of Commission B DPRD DKI Pandapotan Sinaga suggested that Dharma Jaya modernize the meat storage area so that it can compete with other private companies.
"I ask for the breakthrough they are planning, including the development rather than increasing the cool storage of their production equipment, so that they can be completely modernized, so they can keep up with the competition in the meat trade market," Pandapotan said in his statement, Tuesday, February 15.
Moreover, currently Dharma Jaya has upgraded its status from a regional company (PD) to a regional public company (perumda). This condition, according to Pandapotan, could be one of the capitals for the realization of a new breakthrough.
Because, with this status, the company engaged in animal food can apply for a large authorized capital adjustment of up to IDR 2 trillion.
"Later on, with the changes in their regional regulations on capital increases, hopefully we can encourage it by providing PMD. Because indeed, we hope that Dharma Jaya can balance the cost of animals in Jakarta," said Pandapotan.
