Anies Coordinates The Tightening Of Jakarta's Out-and-Out Routes With The Ministry Of Transportation
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan plans to again limit the movement of vehicles from outside and entering Jakarta. This follows the plan to re-implement the PSBB on Monday, 14 September.
When the PSBB used to be, DKI had the opportunity to apply an exit and entry permit (SIKM). However, Anies admitted that the restriction did not work optimally because many other regions did not enforce it.
"Ideally, we can limit the movement outside Jakarta to a minimum. But, in reality this is not easy if it is enforced only by Jakarta," said Anies.
Therefore, to plan to tighten the entry and exit of Jakarta, Anies will coordinate with the central government, especially the Ministry of Transportation, as well as local governments in the Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Bodetabek) areas.
"This requires coordination from the central government, especially with the Ministry of Transportation, as well as with our neighbors in Jabodetabek. Tomorrow, we will coordinate with regard to the implementation of the tightening phase which we will carry out on the next day," explained Anies.
In terms of transportation, Anies will again strictly limit the number of public transport passengers. Then, the odd-even will also be temporarily eliminated. However, that does not mean that people can freely travel by private vehicle.
"Currently, the emergency condition is more emergency than the beginning of the previous outbreak, so don't leave the house if you don't have to. Stay at home and don't leave the house from Jakarta if there is no urgent need," said Anies.
Anies said the decision to re-implement the initial PSBB was taken at the DKI Task Force meeting this afternoon. It is deemed necessary to tighten residents' activities given the increasing number of positive COVID-19 patients.
"So, seeing this emergency, there are not many options for the citizens of Jakarta except to pull the emergency brake as soon as possible," said Anies.
Currently, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing regulations for the preparation of the PSBB as it was at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. All business and office activities, outside the 11 essential business sectors, are required to return to work from home or work from home (WFH).
All places to eat such as restaurants and cafes are still allowed to operate, but visitors are no longer allowed to eat on the spot. As well as, public activities and community activities that are mass gathering and make the crowd not allowed to be carried out.
"Gatherings such as reunions, outgoing meetings and other things that bring together people from various places should be postponed. Remember, the transmission of COVID-19 in events like this, the potential is huge," added Anies.
