A COVID-19 Patient At The Athlete's Village Is Reported Suicide
JAKARTA - A patient who has been confirmed positive for COVID-19 who is undergoing treatment at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, was reportedly killed by suicide.
This information was conveyed through a press statement on the latest developments in the patient data of the Wisma Atlet Hospital which was shared by the Information Service of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Kogabwilhan) I.
"One person died by committing suicide jumping from Tower 6," said Marine Colonel Aris Mudian Information Officer for Information on Kogabwilhan I, in a press statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 9.
Aris said that the patient who died with the initials SP was 42 years old. SP reportedly committed suicide by jumping from one of the floors in Tower 6 of the Wisma Athlete Emergency Hospital.
When contacted separately by journalists, Aris admitted that he did not have detailed information regarding the suicide incident. He only mentioned that the unfortunate incident allegedly occurred on Tuesday, September 8 at around 21.30 WIB.
"(It happened) yesterday if I'm not mistaken. At 21.30 WIB it might have happened. For the others we don't know, it's just that information," he said.
With this incident, the number of COVID-19 patients who died at the Wisma Atlet Hospital is currently 5 people.
As for Wednesday, September 9 at 08.00 WIB, the number of patients confirmed positive for COVID-19 who underwent treatment at the Wisma Atlet Hospital was 1,561 people.
Meanwhile, the number of patients with suspicious status was one person. Overall, the number of patients who were hospitalized at the Wisma Atlet Hospital was 1,562, consisting of 811 men and 751 women.
President Joko Widodo has officially functioned the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran as a COVID-19 Emergency Hospital since March 23, 2020. This hospital has a capacity of 12,000.
There are 14,091 patients hospitalized at Wisma Atlet Hospital since March 23, while 267 patients were referred to other hospitals. Meanwhile, 12,031 patients who returned home or were declared cured were recorded.
