Attorney General Investigates Prosecutor Pinangki's Journey Out Of Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Director of Investigation of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Febrie Ardiansyah, examined two employees of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Immigration to confirm the journey of prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari in and out of Indonesia.
"If from the Director General of Immigration, we just look at the crossings. Examination will confirm when he (Prosecutor Pinangki) will leave," Febrie told reporters, Wednesday, September 9.
Febrie denied that the investigation was related to the issuance of passports and the case of Djoko Tjandra's red notice. The reason is, the investigation team has not yet studied the matter.
"There is no connection yet. There is no connection there," he said.
The Attorney General's Office previously tortured two employees of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Immigration. They are Usin as the Head of the Air Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) at the Immigration Check at the Immigration Traffic Directorate of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
Then, Danang Sukmawan, Head of Management and Reporting at the Sub-Directorate for Data Management and Reporting, Directorate of Immigration Information Systems and Technology, Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
Pinangki met Djoko Tjandra in Malaysia. The meeting took place when Djoko was a fugitive from the Attorney General's Office.
In fact, without his superior's knowledge, Pinangki left the country nine times in 2019 to meet Djoko Tjandra. With this disclosure, Pinangki was sentenced to discipline.
Until finally Pinangki was named a suspect on suspicion of receiving gratuities worth 500 thousand US dollars or the equivalent of Rp7 billion from Djoko Tjandra for processing the fatwa. He was charged with Article 5 letter b of the Corruption Crime Law.
