New Android 11 OS Update Released
JAKARTA - Google officially rolled out an update for the Android 11 operating system (OS). Just like the previous year, Google smartphone devices such as the Pixel 2, 3, 3A, 4 and 4A will taste this OS update for the first time.
Quoted by The Verge, apart from the Pixel series, the final version of Android 11 can also be downloaded for OnePlus, Oppo X2 and Reno 3 phones through an open beta program for users in North America, Europe and India.
Google promises, this OS update will soon be rolled out to more other Android-based smartphone devices. "More partners are launching and upgrading devices over the coming months," wrote Google in its official blog, Wednesday, September 9.
There are a number of new feature updates that Google presents on the Android 11 OS. Even so, Android 11 doesn't bring many comprehensive changes, because Google focuses more on functionality and optimizing smartphone capabilities.
One of the biggest changes from Android 11 is grouping notifications from the messaging app into single chat bubbles. The bubble interface at first glance is similar to Facebook Messenger, making it more accessible.
There are also new controls for media, a new interface for screenshots, an improved smart home control menu (accessible by long pressing the power button. In addition, the company is also introducing stricter permission settings than before.
Although Android 11 is also available on several phones on the market today, Google remains a number of features exclusive to their Pixel devices. These features include AR-location, the Google Smart Reply function which is integrated on Gboard to more chat applications, and smart folders.
