DKI Will Add More Than 800 Beds For COVID-19 Hospital
JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Health Office Widyastuti confirmed the addition of more than 800 new beds for isolation treatment and ICU rooms at the COVID-19 referral hospital.
When pregnant, the use of isolation beds in referral hospitals reached 77 percent of the total capacity of 4,456 beds. Meanwhile, the use of ICU beds reached 83 percent of the total 483 beds.
"We are indeed increasing the bed capacity, both ICU and isolation through various strategies. There are about 800 additional beds," Widyastuti told reporters, Wednesday, September 9.
There are a number of strategies implemented so that DKI can have additional beds for COVID-19 patients. First, DKI will transform Cengkareng Hospital and Pasar Minggu Hospital into a special hospital to fully handle COVID-19 patients.
"RSUD Cengkareng and Pasar Minggu will be specifically handling COVID-19. Of course, human resources are also needed," said Widyastuti.
In addition, the DKI Provincial Government will also maximize the capacity of Pertamina Semprug Hospital and Siloam Mampang Hospital by sending a number of medical personnel recruited by the DKI Provincial Government to handle COVID-19 patients.
The Jakarta Provincial Government also added 11 private hospitals as new COVID-19 referral hospitals, from 67 hospitals previously.
These hospitals include Royal Taruma Hospital, Siloam TB Simatupang Hospital, Premier Jatinegara Hospital, Jakarta Hajj Hospital, Cilandak Marine Hospital, Budi Kemerdekaan Hospital, Evasari Hospital, Yarsi Hospital, Columbia Asia Hospital, Duta Indah Hospital, Duta Indah Hospital, and RS. Bhakti Mulya.
"Several private hospitals that have not previously joined have now confirmed that they want to join to provide COVID-19 services," he said.
