Mandalika Indonesia 2022 MotoGP Pre-season, Welcome Riders To The Best Indonesian Circuit By PTPP
JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), one of the construction and investment companies, plays an active role in organizing the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP. After the 2021 World Superbike has been well implemented, this time Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit is ready to host the MotoGP event which will be held on March 18-20, 2022.
Having started the Pre-season on Friday, February 11, 2022, the quality of the track at the Mandalika circuit has received praise from MotoGP racers and organizers. One of the Spanish riders, Marc Marquez, stated that the circuit worked on by PTPP has its own interest (interesting new circuit), supported by another Spaniard Alex Rins who stated that this circuit has an extraordinary track (amazing track).
This quality is supported by the natural beauty of the island of Lombok that surrounds this circuit. The Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit which is 4.3 kilometers long and has 17 bends was built by PTPP in a short time, which is 14 months.
The construction of the main track is in accordance with the quality standards of the Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM) with a class A circuit category. PTPP applies a special asphalt mixture used on racing circuits, namely Stone Mastic Asphalt which has special advantages, one of which is high wheel grip. Increasing the speed and maneuverability of the racers, the main track of this circuit is claimed to be able to be reached with a top speed of 310 kilometers per hour.
PTPP's contribution in organizing MotoGP and the development of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is also realized from other work that is currently being carried out. PTPP is trusted to work on the Grandstand for the spectator stands with a total capacity of 50,634 seats and the VIP Village of 8,438.5 square meters with a capacity of 2,128 seats in the VIP Lounge and 1,056 seats in the VIP stands.
Until now, the work progress of Grandstand VIP Village is at 47.54 percent. Furthermore, PTPP helped build the Observation Deck at Bukit 360 which is intended for VVIP guests and so far has been at 30 percent. All supporting work on the circuit is targeted to be completed in early March 2022 before the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia begins.
Furthermore, PTPP was trusted to do some work on the development of the Mandalika SEZ. The Mandalika Area corridor arrangement is the BIL Roundabout landscape which has now reached 91.12 percent of the Sunggu Roundabout landscape which has reached 32.78 percent, the Tri Putri Roundabout landscape which has reached 30 percent, and the pedestrian area work in front of the circuit which has reached 15.33 percent targeted for completion by the end of February 2022.
Furthermore, the road and landscape widening of Kuta - Keruak for 5.5 kilometers is now progressing at 41.86 percent and is targeted to be completed in August 2022. PTPP has participated in the work of the Mandalika Urban Tourism Infrastructure Project (MUTIP), whose progress has so far been completed. reached 26.69 percent and is targeted for completion in June 2023.
