JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin expressed his condolences for the death of the Chairman of the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Hasanuddin AF, who passed away on Thursday, February 10 evening at 23.00 WIB.
"I express my deepest condolences for the passing of Prof. Dr. KH Hasanuddin AF, Chairman of the MUI Fatwa Commission and Professor of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta," said Ma'ruf Amin in a statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, February 11th.
Ma'ruf Amin remembers Hasanuddin as a figure who contributed a lot to the fields of education and religion.
"During his life, KH Hasanuddin has contributed a lot to the nation and state, both through education and through his work at MUI," he added.
One of Hasanuddin's achievements, continued the Vice President, was seen from the results of the MUI halal study and fatwa related to the Red and White Vaccine.
"Even before he died, he had time to review and determine the Fatwa for the Red and White Vaccine developed by Universitas Airlangga," he said. This role shows Hasanuddin's commitment as a cleric who cares about the community and supports the Government's efforts in handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This shows his commitment and hard work to protect the community and the people from the dangers that threaten, especially during the current COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
Ma'ruf Amin prayed for the deceased and the bereaved family to be given the courage to face the test.
“May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept all of KH Hasanuddin's deeds of worship, forgive all his mistakes; and the families left behind are given patience and fortitude in facing this test," said the Vice President.
