Banten Police Accompany LPSK To Provide Compensation For 9 Past Terrorist Victims
SERANG - Banten Regional Police Irwasda Kombes Pol Eko Kristianto accompanied by the Head of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Hasto Atmojo Suroyo handed over compensation for 9 victims of past terrorism (KTML) who live in the Banten area.
In the Multipurpose Hall of the Banten Police Headquarters, Hasto said that LPSK handed over compensation of Rp. 1.495 billion for 9 victims of past terrorism (KTML) who live in Banten Province.
"There are 9 KTML victims who are domiciled in Banten, identified by the LPSK and BNPT, and meet the requirements for compensation," said Hasto Atmojo Suroyo in a release from the Banten Police, Friday, February 11.
Hasto also explained that there were 357 victims from 57 past terrorism incidents spread across 19 provinces throughout Indonesia. Hasto said, including the events experienced by General TNI (Ret.) Wiranto in Pandeglang Regency as well as foreigners and Indonesian citizens living in the United States, Germany, Australia, Canada and the Netherlands.
"Especially for the 9 victims who were given compensation this time, they were direct victims and heirs of the deceased, the Bali Bombing II incident, the Australian Embassy bombing, shootings at the Pondok Aren and Ciputat police stations, as well as the bomb explosion at the Kampung Melayu Terminal," said Hasto. Atmojo.
The amount of compensation received by the victims, said Hasto, was determined by a medical assessment in collaboration with PDFI (Indonesian Forensic Doctors Association).
"The degree of injury in question is, the degree of minor injury with a compensation value of Rp. 75,000,000, the degree of moderate injury of Rp. 115,000,000, the degree of serious injury of Rp. 210,000,000, and for the heirs of the deceased victim of Rp. 250,000,000. has been issued by the Ministry of Finance for victims of past terrorism," he explained.
According to Hasto, the submission of compensation is an implementation of Law Number 5 of 2018 and Government Regulation Number 35 of 2020. Since the law was born, all victims of terrorism are the responsibility of the state.
"We should be grateful, after a long wait this compensation was finally received. We hope this compensation can be used wisely and not consumptively," said Hasto.
