BNPB Distributes 1.5 Million Masks To 135 Points In Jakarta
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has dispatched a team to distribute 1.5 million masks at 135 points in the DKI Jakarta area for the next three days.
The Main Secretary of BNPB, Lilik Kurniawan, said that the distribution of masks was part of the responsibility of BNPB and the COVID-19 Handling Task Force which was specifically mandated by President Joko Widodo to reinforce the discipline of health protocols, especially the use of masks.
"One of the goals of the Government of Indonesia to form a Task Force for Handling COVID-19 is how we deal with COVID-19 more effectively," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 11.
Lilik asked the entire team that took to the field to actually be able to take real action and feel the benefits directly by the community.
Lilik also emphasized that with the distribution of masks, the rate of transmission of COVID-19 is expected to be reduced and the public is protected from the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
"I ask all BNPB and Task Force members to be assisted from other friends to distribute masks to people around Jakarta. We want to protect them, their families, from the transmission of COVID-19," he said.
The distribution of masks on Friday, February 11, included Galur, Johar Baru, Kampung Rawa, Tanah Tinggi, Cikini, Gondangdia, Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Cengkareng Barat, Paseban, Senen, Kebon Kacang, Kebon Melati, Petamburan , Cempaka Baru, Cipedak, Jagakarsa, Lenteng Agung and Srengseng Sawah.
Next on Saturday, February 12, the team will target locations, including Pegangsaan, North Sahari Mountain, Karang Anyar, Kartini, South Mangga Dua, Pasar Baru, Cideng, Duri Pulo, East Cengkareng, Bendungan Hilir, Gelora, South Gunung Sahari , Harapan Mulya, Kebon Blank, Kemayoran, West Tanjung, North Cipete, North Gandaria, Gunung, North Kebayoran Lama, Pondok Pinang, Bangka, West Brass, Mampang Prapatan, Pela Mampang and Tegal Parang.
The distribution of masks on Sunday, February 13, included the areas of Gambir, Kebon Kelapa, South Petojo, North Petojo, Bungur, Kenari, Kramat, Kwitang, Duri Kosambi, Kampung Bali, Karet Tengsin, Serdang, Sumur Batu, Utan Panjang, Ciganjur, Kramat Pela, Melawai, Petogong and Pulo.
