Applying Layered Security Like In World Superbike, PLN Is Ready To Maintain The Mandalika MotoGP Racing Electricity Supply
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has prepared a strategy to secure electricity supply at the MotoGP international motorcycle racing event in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara. This state-owned electricity company will implement a layered security scheme.
PLN Regional Business Director for Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua, and Nusa Tenggara Adi Priyanto said his party will provide electricity service without flickering for the smooth running of the race.
"The electricity supply scheme with a layered system up to N-3 has also been tested try to smooth the MotoGP pre-season test," he said in a statement quoted by Antara, Friday, February 10.
The N-3 layered scheme is a configuration that is also used in the World Superbike event which was held in November 2021.
Adi guarantees that this layered security scheme will create a network electricity at the Mandalika Circuit is reliable and there will be no disturbance.
The main electricity supply during the event comes from the Lombok electricity system. PLN has also prepared an uninterruptible power system (UPS) and a generator as a backup for electricity supply in the event of a disturbance.
Not only that, but the company has also brought in UPS from outside Sumbawa Island, namely from Papua, East Nusa Tenggara, Surabaya, and Jakarta.

A total of 18 generator units with a total capacity of 6,700 kVA, 17 UPS units with a total capacity of 2,070 kVA, and 6 units of mobile substations with a total capacity of 4,330 kVA are ready to support electricity at the Mandalika Circuit.
"Hopefully, of course, PLN can supply all venues properly so that international events that will take place both pre-season and MotoGP can run well," said Adi.
Not only in the circuit, PLN ensures that other supporting facilities are also safe from interference. Such as hotels, inns, residences, and others.
