The Motorcycle Thief Who Was Beaten By Residents At Pondok Petir, Turns Out To Be A Sukabumi Resident Who Lives In Pamulang
DEPOK - A battered motor vehicle thief was judged by a mob at the Pamulang Housing Complex, Depok, Jalan Raya Canal Nawi Malik RT. 1/4, Pondok Lightning Village, Bojongsari District, Depok. Residents who were upset because of the many cases of motorcycle theft in their area, tied the perpetrators to an iron pole in front of the housing gate.
Based on information obtained, the perpetrator with the initials H (36) managed to steal a black Honda Beat motorbike belonging to a resident who was parked on the side of the road in the Bojongsari area, on Tuesday, February 8, at around 14.00 WIB. However, the victim was chased until the perpetrator was caught in a traffic jam.
The victim shouted the thief, so that it attracted attention. Residents spontaneously arrested the perpetrator and then judged him on the spot until he was battered.
Members of the Bhabinkamtibmas, Pondok Petir Village, Aiptu Sigit, with Babinsa assisted by Pokdarkamtibmas members, immediately secured the perpetrators from the tantrums of the residents.
"The perpetrator was beaten badly by the crowd at the scene. We are having trouble calming the residents down, after that the perpetrator was immediately taken by car to the Bojongsari Police Station," said Aji, a local resident, Thursday, February 10.
"Not only became the target of the masses, the perpetrators were also tied to an iron pole by the roadside, so that it became a public spectacle in a battered state," he said.
Based on the victim's statement, Endrian Pratama (29), at that time he was parking his Honda Beat Hitam motorcycle in front of Warung Nasi Emak on Jalan Raya Parung - Ciputat RT. 01/04 , Kelurahan / Kecamatan Bojongsari, Depok.
"The motorbike was just parked for a while to go to a friend's place. Not yet 5 minutes when it came back to the parking lot, the perpetrator had pushed the motorbike. After that, he was immediately taken away. And when the incident happened, he saw two other friends with different types of automatic motorbikes," he said after questioned by investigators from the Bojongsari Police.
The perpetrator was caught after the victim chased him for 3 Kilometers. Right in front of the gate of Pamulang Elok Housing, the perpetrator was kicked and fell.
"After being kicked, the perpetrators fell, including my motorbike. Then many people came closer and immediately judged the perpetrators until they were battered," he said.
Separately, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bojongsari Sector Police, Iptu Bowo, said that at the time the perpetrators were handed over to the residents, they were already in a battered state.
"The condition of the perpetrator's face is already battered and we will immediately treat it to the nearest clinic," he said.
Iptu Bowo revealed from the results of the examination of the information that perpetrator H was an unemployed person from Pasanggrahan Village, Ciwaruk, Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency.
"Due to the difficulty of getting a job, the perpetrator was determined to steal a motorbike with the proceeds of the crime going to be used to meet the needs of a healthy life," he said.
Meanwhile, the perpetrator sleeps in his friend's rented house every day in the Pamulang area, South Tangerang.
"The perpetrator lived in a rented house with his friend in the Pamulang area, Tangerang," he said.
From the results of the temporary investigation, Iptu Bowo revealed that the perpetrator was a specialist in stealing theft during the day.
"Players during the day and pick (steal-ed) targeting motorbikes parked on the side of the road or in fashion shops using the letter T key," he added.
"We are still developing this case. The perpetrator is provisionally stipulated in Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft of curanmor with a criminal threat of up to 6 years in prison. The evidence seized was in the form of a letter T key, STNK and a motorbike belonging to the victim," he said.
