Performance Evaluation, Jayawijaya Papua Regency Government Will Terminate Contract Workers No Longer Needed

JAYAWIJAYA - The Jayawijaya Regency Government, Papua Province evaluates contract workers in several regional apparatus organizations (OPD) within the regional secretariat. The evaluation aims to make the contract workers work by the provisions.

The Regional Secretary of Jayawijaya Regency, Thony Mayor, said in the meeting it was conveyed to contract workers to work by work agreements made by each OPD.

"I checked again, if the contract employee is needed, we will extend it, if it is not needed we will decide because it is by the regional financial capacity", he said in Wamena, quoted from Antara on Thursday, February 10.

Thony said that from the meeting there were contract workers who were active or no longer active. "As the new leaders, we expect them to continue to work according to the stipulations that have been set and where they are placed", he said.

He confirmed that several contract workers were recruited to fill several positions where there were no State Civil Servants (ASN) employees. "So what we don't have is the ASN that we have a contract to fill and he has certain skills that are needed", he said.

Thony also reminded ASN not to hand over all work in offices to be handled by contract workers. "ASN also needs to be pressured to improve their professionalism in their work", he said.
