The Government Will Distribute Salary Subsidies To 3.5 Million Recipients In Phase III

JAKARTA - BPJS Ketenagakerjaan or BP Jamsostek has submitted data on prospective recipients of stage III salary or wage subsidies to the Ministry of Manpower. The number of candidate data submitted was 3.5 million.

Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah said, with the 3.5 million data submitted by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan today, the total data for prospective recipients of salary or wage subsidies from stages I, II, and III is 9 million.

The details are that in stage I, August 24, the Ministry of Manpower has received 2.5 million data on potential recipients of salary or wage subsidies. Then, followed by phase II on September 1 with 3 million data.

"Currently, some of the data received from stages I and II have been successfully distributed to recipients and some are still in process," he said, in a virtual press conference with BP Jamsostek, Tuesday, September 8.

Ida explained that the mechanism for distributing stage III salary or wage subsidies is still the same as the previous stage. Where the data that has been handed over will be checked by the Ministry of Manpower first. In accordance with the technical guidelines, the Ministry of Manpower has 4 days to make a check list.

"After the check list is carried out, the data will be submitted to the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN). Then, the KPPN distributes the salary subsidy or wages stage III to the channeling bank, namely banks that are members of Himbara," he said.

Furthermore, the Himbara banks will channel salary or wage subsidies to the beneficiary's account directly, be it bank accounts with fellow Himbara banks or other private bank accounts.

Ida said, based on data from the Ministry of Manpower until Monday, September 7, the salary subsidy for phase I that had been distributed to recipients was 2,311,237 or 92.45 percent of the total number of candidate recipients for phase I of 2.5 million people. Meanwhile, for stage II, the amount of subsidized salaries or wages that had been distributed was 1,386,059 or 46.20 percent of the total 3 million prospective recipients of phase II.

Furthermore, Ida asked BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to communicate with stakeholders so that various obstacles in the distribution of subsidized salaries or wages can be minimized. Such as duplication, accounts that are no longer active, passive accounts, invalid accounts, have been frozen, accounts do not match population identification numbers (NIK), or accounts that are not registered with Kuring.

"We appeal to employers or companies and workers to establish communication and dialogue regarding workers' account data, to ensure that there are no errors in reporting accounts to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. So that the distribution of salary subsidies or wages is right on target," he said.

Salary or wage subsidies are one of our joint efforts to support the National Economic Recovery (PEN) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Ida said, the government hopes that this assistance should be used to purchase primary needs such as groceries or domestically made products and MSMEs.

The distribution of salary subsidy assistance is given to workers or employees in the amount of IDR 600,000 per month for four months, or a total of IDR 2.4 million, which will be given every two months. This means that in one disbursement, workers will receive a subsidy of Rp1.2 million.
