It's Not Over Yet, The KPK Council Is Asked To Summon Lili Pintauli Again, This Time About Allegations Of Fake News
JAKARTA - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) urges the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to summon Lili Pintauli Siregar. This summons had to be made because the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK was suspected of spreading false news at a press conference in 2021.
"ICW urges the Supervisory Board to immediately summon Lili Pintauli Siregar in relation to spreading false news during a press conference in April 2021," ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana told reporters quoted on Thursday, February 10.
"At that time, Lili clearly denied her communication with M Syahrial. In fact, it wasn't long before she was proven legally and convincingly to communicate with the former Tanjung Balai Mayor regarding the case being handled by the KPK and sanctioned by the Supervisory Board," he added.
The M Syahrial referred to by ICW is the former Mayor of Tanjungbalai who was proven to have given bribes to a former KPK investigator, Stepanus Robin Pattuju. The gift was made so that Stepanus would secure the bribes he received from buying and selling positions.
Returning to ICW, Kurnia said, the KPK Council must be objective. The reason is that the spread of fake news because Lili's statement is not the same as the ethical violation that has been decided by Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean et al some time ago.
"ICW hopes that the Supervisory Board will be objective and not protect Lili," he said.
Besides that, Lili's ethical violation is clear. Kurnia said, Lili had violated Article 4 Paragraph (1) letter a of the Supervisory Board Regulation (Perdewas) Number 2 of 2020 which specifically ordered KPK personnel to act honestly in carrying out their duties.
Second, said Kurnia, Lili had Article 5 Paragraph (2) letter b of PerDewas 2 of 2020 regarding the prohibition for KPK personnel from spreading false news.
"If later the report of the former KPK employee to the Supervisory Board is proven, ICW asks the Supervisory Board to immediately recommend Lili to leave her position as KPK Commissioner," said Kurnia.
Regarding this urging, member of the KPK Supervisory Board, Syamsuddin Haris, stated that his party was still investigating the report. The public is asked to be patient waiting for the results.
"The new ethical complaint against the LPS mother is being processed at the KPK Council," Haris said when confirmed. Previously, Lili Pintauli had been declared a violation of ethics after communicating with the party whose case was being handled by the KPK, namely the former Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial. Their meeting started with a flight to Jakarta from Medan.
In addition, Lili also uses her position for her personal interests, namely dealing with the staffing problems of her sister-in-law, Ruri Prihartini Lubis who works at the Regional Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Kualo Tanjungbalai.
As a result of her actions, Lili was later convicted of a serious violation and given a sanction in the form of cutting her basic salary by 40 percent for 12 months.
Even though she was found guilty of violating ethics, Lili didn't even show her remorse. He is also still actively giving speeches at prevention events conducted by the KPK outside the city and even representing the anti-corruption commission in international events some time ago.
