7 Hectare Palm Oil Land Owned By Residents In Nagan Raya Aceh Burns, 30 Personnel Deployed
ACEH - An oil palm plantation of seven hectares belonging to the community in Gunong Reubo Village, Kuala District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province is on fire.
"So far, we are still trying to extinguish the fire at the location," said Secretary of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Nagan Raya Regency Said Nazaruddin who was contacted by Antara in Suka Makmue, Wednesday evening, February 9.
He said that so far his party did not know the cause of the burning of oil palm plantations belonging to the community in this area. Firefighters are still trying to extinguish the fire.
Said Nazaruddin explained, efforts to extinguish the fire at the scene had to be carried out using a water pump machine because of the difficulty of accessing the road to the fire site.
The extinguishing effort was led by the Head of BPBD of Nagan Raya Regency, Irfanda Rinadi, involving 30 officers.
Even though they have managed to control the fire, Said Nazaruddin said, officers are still monitoring the area around the fire to ensure there are no flares to other locations, he said.
