Observer Of Community Values Wants New Face KPU Members

JAKARTA - Political observer Hermawan Sulistyo conveyed that the public hopes that KPU members for the 2022-2027 period should not be from among the incumbents but the new names chosen. said political observer Hermawan Sulistyo, in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 9.

The researcher in the field of local political development stated that the public could hope for new names to serve as KPU members, although he realized that the new names could not be guaranteed to be better.

"We can't expect the old one to be better," he said.

Hermawan also asked members of Commission II of the House of Representatives to conduct a fit and proper test to track the integrity of the KPU candidates. According to him, members of Commission II can confirm the names to their colleagues or neighbors.

"It's very easy to do profiling. Ask their friends. Indonesia is narrow, the environment must know," he said again

In addition, according to Hermawan, members of Commission II also need to explore the wealth of the candidates for KPU members. He said Commission II could cooperate with PPATK to track down suspicious transactions from each candidate.

"The panel can request data from PPATK. The indication of corruption is not from money coming in, but from spending," he said.

Timsel candidates for KPU members have chosen 14 names. These names have also been submitted to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

For information, the 14 names of candidates for KPU 2022-2027 who have passed so far are August Mellaz, Betty Idroos, Dahliah, Hasyim Asy'ari, I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi.

Then Isham Holik, Iffa Rosita, Iwan Rompo Banne, M Afifuddin, M Ali Safaat, Parsadaan Harahap, Viryan, Yessy Yatty Momongan, and Yulianto Sudrajat.

The composition of the candidates consisted of 10 men and four women and the names of the incumbents who passed were Viryan, Hasyim Asy'ari, I Dewa Kade Wiarsa Raka Sandi. Furthermore, the 14 people will undergo a fit and proper test in the DPR.
