Minister Edhy Prabowo Reportedly Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo is reportedly positive for COVID-19. This news was confirmed by a politician from the Gerindra Party, Kawendra Lukistian. To reporters, he said Edhy had tested positive after returning from out of town to carry out his duties.
"Yes (positive, red). Said friends at the KKP after a visit from an out-of-town assignment yesterday," Kawendra said when contacted by reporters, Tuesday, September 8.
The deputy chairman of Commission IV DPR RI Daniel Johan also received the same news. He obtained this information from staff at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.
"Yes, I got the information from the KKP staff and the information I got was that he was in good health," said Daniel.
After obtaining this information, as the deputy chairman of the DPR commission who was the partner of the ministry led by Edhy, Daniel immediately contacted the Gerindra cadre.
"I directly WA Bang Edhy but did not directly ask about it, just prayed that it would always be healthy and smooth," he said.
"Answered 'amen, thank you, Mr. Chairman'," added the Wasekjen of the National Awakening Party (PKB).
Previously, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic entering Indonesia, a Minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, namely Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, had tested positive for the virus. At that time, Budi was treated at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital.
It is known, as of Monday, September 7 yesterday the number of COVID-19 cases was still happening. The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded an additional 2,880 cases nationwide. This figure is obtained from 18,412 specimens examined.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 196,989 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Monday, September 7.
Based on data development, the percentage of positive cases based on test results or the positivity rate continues to increase. Today, the positivity rate reached 13.9 percent.
The increase in this figure was seen from the positivity rate on September 5 of 13.7 percent, then the positivity rate on September 6 of 13.8 percent.
Today, there are 2,077 cases recovered, so that a total of 140,652 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 105 people and a total of 8,130 people.
