Stories Of Residents Seeing ODGJ Rampage In Rawamangun: Entering A Tailor's House, Burning Customers' Clothes

JAKARTA - Tuesday, February 8 at around 06.30 WIB, residents on Jalan Pope, Rawamangun, East Jakarta were shocked by the action of a man with the initials R (40), a person with mental disorders (ODGJ).

According to Bagong (38), one of the eyewitnesses as well as a local resident, recounting R's moments made residents feel panicked and annoyed because of his brutal behavior.

Bagong said, at around 07.00 WIB, the perpetrator came only wearing a sarong without wearing a shirt to one of the houses of residents who opened sewing services. At first the residents of the house thought the man was a beggar.

But apparently, without permission, the man went straight into the house while raging. Suddenly it made the residents of the house scared and fled asking residents for help.

"The one who owns the house, the tailor, initially thought people were begging, he was told 'sorry' he went into the house. Automatically his mother ran outside screaming to residents for help," said Bagong to reporters, Wednesday, February 9.

Not long after, said Bagong, several residents came to the house and saw the perpetrator had closed the door of the house. The residents did not even know what the ODGJ was doing.

Residents feel in vain trying to persuade him to leave the house. Bagong finally called the local security officers to deal with the man.

However, before the security officers arrived, the perpetrator actually burned a number of clothes that were in the tailor's house.

"The clothes were burned with him, clothes that were stitched by people. Wow, the people here are afraid of fires, the people here immediately broke the door, pulled them straight away," said Bagong.

When the residents were arrested, the man with a mental disorder went berserk. Residents who were overly upset because they saw the man's actions were forced to tie him to the Jalan Ikan Mas portal.

"Angry, angry, basically, we hold and tie us at the portal. We call the police, after the police arrive they say this is a matter for Satpol PP and the Social Service. Yes, they were finally picked up at 11.00 (noon)," he said.

Bagong said the man with a mental disorder burned clothes with gas lighters.

"The Gojek driver said, last night he hurt people in Arion. People were riding a bicycle, while Arion was grabbed by a girl from behind and fell down. Then, like it or not, his girlfriend hit him furiously, the gojek people came, they thought they were thugs, they turned out to be crazy people. " he said.

East Jakarta Social Sub-Department P3S officers began to collect data on the perpetrators. When he arrived at the Duren Sawit Regional Special Hospital (RSKD), the perpetrators began to be examined. "The ODGJ is known to have the initials R, he is 40 years old. A resident of Jakarta," said East Jakarta Social Sub-Department Head Purwono when contacted by VOI, Tuesday, February 8.

Purwono said that the process of handling ODGJ was carried out by P3S officers at the Arion Post and the TRC Team.

"The ODGJ was then brought by the TRC team to be referred to the Duren Sawit Hospital," he said.
