NTB Collaborates With NTT Bidding To Host PON 2028, Prepares A Budget Of IDR 6 Billion
JAKARTA – The government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) decided to apply to host the 2028 PON. They also cooperated with the neighboring province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) for the bidding process.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) related to this bidding will be signed on Thursday, February 10. After that, the two provinces will jointly register on February 17 in Jakarta.
"The MoU will be signed between various elements in NTB and NTT such as the DPRD, the governor, the leadership of Commission V and KONI," said Deputy Chairman of the NTB DPRD H Mori Hanafi as quoted by ANTARA.
NTB's plan to participate in hosting PON 2028 with NTT is expected to strengthen the position of the two first-level regions so that they can win the bidding.
Mori said that the budget for the bidding process had already been prepared.
"Moreover, if you look at it, NTT also has the same enthusiasm and tenacity as NTB to come out as the winner in the bidding process later," said Mori.
To be able to win the bidding for the host, Mori hopes that all lines can move together. One of them is lobbying or approaching to smooth out the NTB-NTT celebration to become the home of the 2028 PON.
"Be it the governor, members of the DPR and the leadership of the DPR, including KONI, must also move. So this is the cooperation of all existing parties. No one should remain motionless or silent and there is no need for anyone to be too dominant," he said.
The budget that must be prepared for the bidding process reaches Rp. 6 billion. The details are Rp 1 billion for registration, while Rp 5 billion as collateral.
If the province that submitted itself does not pass the bidding, the security deposit will be returned. However, if they pass, the existing budget will be used by the central KONI for the socialization of PON 2028.
