League 1 Wants To Start But The Regulations Are Not Completed, Until When?
JAKARTA - The continuation of the League 1 season 2020 will take place on October 1, 2020 to February 28, 2021. However, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has not yet finalized the match regulations.
President Director of PT LIB Akhmad Hadian Lukita said that his party is targeting the latest regulations for the 2020 League season to be completed before September 18.
"We hope it will be completed before the last manager meeting on September 18," said Akhmad Hadian as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 8.
He said the League 1 regulations are still being reviewed with PSSI, including the regulations for League 2 2020.
"Everything is still in process, but it is getting narrower," said Akhmad Hadian.
League 1 season 2020 will be held on Java Island. By concentrating there, teams will move around by land transportation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Because it took place in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, there were several changes that were put in the latest regulations for League 1 2020.
Although it has not been officially announced, some of the amendments have circulated in the public, such as the club's obligation to include U-20 players in the list of players, a maximum of five substitutions in one game and no relegation at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian League 2 for the 2020 season starts on 17 October-5 December 2020. This competition takes place in a completely new format, namely in the form of a tournament that passes through the group stage, the quarter-finals to the final.
Both Leagues 1 and 2 are implemented with strict health protocols. All matches will take place without spectators present at the stadium and testing for COVID-19 will be carried out regularly.
