Mandalika MotoGP Pre-Season Test, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police Ensure Tight Control Of The Bubble System To Crew-Racers

MATARAM - Head of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police Operations Bureau, Commissioner Imam Thobroni, confirmed that his party would strictly oversee the implementation of the bubble system to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at the 2022 MotoGP Pre-season Test event at the Mandalika Circuit.

"So the implementation of this bubble system (the 2022 MotoGP Pre-Season Test) will be strictly monitored," said Imam in Mataram, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, February 8.

The escort, he said, had been implemented since the drivers and crew arrived at Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport (BIZAM), last Monday. "We escorted them from the airport to the hotel," he said.

From the field mapping, he explained, there are around 22 hotels in the Kuta Mandalika area, around the Mandalika Circuit, which are the accommodation locations for the riders, crew, and invited guests for the 2022 MotoGP Preseason Test.

"These hotels are used for implementing the bubble system. So when they arrive at the hotel, they are immediately isolated," he said.

For their movement, he said, they were only allowed to move from the location of the inn to the Mandalika Circuit. The Imam ensures that they are not allowed to interact directly with the outside community.

In fact, he explained, for sports activities, they are only allowed to carry out around hotels that are close to the Kuta Mandalika Beach area and the Mandalika Circuit.

"If you are on vacation, it is only allowed to go to the Tanjung Aan Beach area, others are not allowed, 'hanging out' in cafes is also not allowed," he said.
