Accepting Application For Adjournment Of Detention Of Adam Deni, Police Investigators Are Still Thinking
JAKARTA - The suspect in the alleged illegal access case, Adam Deni, has officially filed for a suspension of detention. However, the Police said they would study the request.
"Yes, it's true that it has been received (the request for a suspension of detention, ed)," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo when confirmed, Tuesday, February 8.
Dedi said investigators could not immediately decide on the application. This is because investigators will study and consider the reasons behind the application. "Later, investigators will process it first," said Inspector General Dedi.
Meanwhile, Adam Deni's lawyer, Susandi, said that the application for a suspension of detention had been sent on February 3. One of the reasons behind the application for suspension of detention is due to the crazy spread of COVID-19. So, Susandi thought that it was better for her client not to be arrested.
"Consideration from the family because the current pandemic situation is increasing, we will ask the investigators to grant our request," he said.
Then, in this application for a suspension of detention, Adam Deni's parents will become guarantors
Adam Deni was arrested by the Directorate of Cyber Crime, Bareskrim Polri on suspicion of illegal access, on February 1. He uploaded other people's documents to social media.
The arrest was based on the police report number LP/B/0040/I/2022/SPKT/Dittipidsiber, Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, dated January 27, 2022. The reporter has the initials SYD.
After the examination was completed, investigators decided to detain Adam Deni for the next 20 days at the Bareskrim remand center. He was charged with Article 48 paragraphs 1,2 and 3 in conjunction with Article 32 paragraphs 1,2 and 3 of the ITE Law.
