No Longer A Member Of The National Training Center, Praveen/Jasmine Is Practicing In Kudus, Looking For A Sparring Partner
JAKARTA - Indonesian mixed doubles Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti were forced to undergo joint training in Kudus, Central Java due to a lack of sparring partners in preparing to appear on the European tour which will begin in March.
Praveen/Melati, who are no longer part of the Cipayung National Training Center, will make their debut as a professional pair in three European tournaments, namely the German Open (8-13 March), All England (16-20 March), and the Swiss Open (22-27 March). March).
PB Djarum's mixed doubles coach, Vita Marissa, said that Praveen/Melati and two other pairs, namely Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, and Akbar Bintang Cahyono/Marsheilla Gischa Islami, will undergo centered training in Kudus for three weeks. After that, they will return to Jakarta to prepare for the team's departure to Germany.
"For foreign players (non-training), the problem is actually in the sparring. Fortunately, we have several pairs in this team, so we can still help each other in training. We just need more," said Vita as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 8.
“Meanwhile, the other big mixed doubles teams are all in Kudus. So we finally decided to practice together in Kudus, so that the sparring can be more," he continued.
The former coach of the Cipayung National Training Center added that his students still had to prepare for their departure to Europe, one of which was technical and physical preparation, especially after the year-end holidays.
The players have also carried out a COVID-19 booster vaccination on Friday last week as an effort to minimize the risk of being exposed to the corona virus.
“For these three pairs there is still a lot to prepare before the game. Moreover, this is their first tournament in 2022. And they are also out of year-end holidays, this definitely affects their condition. Yesterday I focused on getting their physical condition back to normal. Later in Kudus, it will be added according to the needs of each individual, "explained Vita.
