Arriving At Mandalika, MotoGP Rookies Undergo Quarantine While Showing Off Enjoying Young Coconut
JAKARTA - The MotoGP pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok will take place on 11-13 February. But the riders have arrived at the scene today.
Among the riders who came, one of them was Raul Fernandez, a Tech3 rider who became a MotoGP rookie this season. Arriving in Lombok, Raul immediately underwent a 24-hour quarantine at the hotel as an absolute requirement amid the high spread of COVID-19.
Setting foot in Mandalika was the first experience for Raul. So, he seemed enthusiastic about his activities even though he only stayed at the hotel. One of the unique moments was also shared by Raul on his Instagram.
In Instagram Story, Raul is seen holding a young coconut with his left hand. The moment of enjoying the young coconut seemed to be a fun thing for the rider as well as a moment of introduction to the situation at Mandalika.
"Hello," wrote Raul, showing a young coconut he was enjoying.
Before MotoGP riders like Raul, the World Superbike (WSBK) riders also did the same thing when they arrived at Mandalika for the closing series in November 2021.
Scott Redding, for example, shared his story of walking on the beach and giving money to children around the Mandalika Circuit. Yes, the beauty of Lombok, especially around Mandalika, always steals the attention of the racers.
The Mandalika Circuit itself will be the location for the last pre-season test before the first 2022 MotoGP series will be held at the Losail Circuit, Qatar on Sunday, March 6.
