Deadly Accident On The Pantura Route, 6 People Killed
SURABAYA - As many as six people died after being involved in a series of accidents on the Pantura route, in Bogang Hamlet, Beji Village, Tuban Regency, East Java. This accident involved a Toyota Kijang car with a truck carrying fresh fish.
"The incident around 10:45 WIB," said the Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, confirmed, Monday, September 7.
Truno explained that the deadly accident occurred when a Kijang car with police number K 8824 BE was about to overtake the vehicle in front of him at high speed. The Kijang car was carrying seven passengers.
At the same time, a truck with police number S 8252 HJ was passing from the opposite direction at high speed. Until finally there was an accident.
"As a result of the accident, six of the seven passengers died. While one passenger survived," said Truno.
Meanwhile, the Head of Tuban Police, AKBP Ruruh Wicaksono, suspects that the accident happened because of the driving style of Toyota Kijang drivers. This is because when they want to overtake the vehicle in front of them, the truck passes from the opposite direction at high speed.
"The provisional suspicion is that the Toyota Kijang car was about to overtake," said Ruruh.
This collision is called very strong. The door of the Kijang car was still attached to the body of the truck after the collision.
"We are currently still processing the crime scene (TKP). While one survivor has been evacuated to the hospital," said Ruruh.
