NasDem Targets Top 3 In 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party is preparing consolidation steps for the 2024 General Election (Pemilu). The party created by Surya Paloh is even targeting a top three position in the upcoming general election.

"At least we are in the top three," said the chairman of the NasDem Party faction in the DPR, Ahmad Ali, to reporters on Monday, February 7.

According to Ali, the target is realistic considering the trend in NasDem's vote has always been increasing since becoming a participant in the election. Even in the 2014 election, he said, NasDem won 7 percent of the vote.

In the 2019 Election, NasDem was successful with 10 percent gain and entered the top 4 nationally.

"So, of course, the target going forward is much bigger. We are no longer in the top 4. If we are only in the top 4, we are the losers," said Ali.

Previously, Trust Indonesia Research and Consulting measured the electoral dynamics of political parties in the 2024 General Election.

Three political parties are predicted not to pass the parliamentary threshold, so they will not have representation in the Senayan parliament in the upcoming elections.

The three political parties are the Nasdem Party with 3.9 percent electability, the United Development Party (PPP) with 2.9 percent, and the National Mandate Party (PAN) with 1.9 percent.

"In first place, PDIP (electability) is 21.8 percent," said Trust Indonesia Executive Director Azhari Ardinal in presenting the results of his online survey, Monday, January 31.
