Steal TV And Drill Tool To Buy Methamphetamine, 2 Men In Medan Arrested
MEDAN - Police arrested 2 perpetrators of theft by breaking into a shop with the initials DHK (64) and MD (23). In addition to the perpetrators of the theft, the police also arrested a stolen goods collector with the initials S (45).
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Medan Polrestabes Kompol M Firdaus said the perpetrators were arrested based on the report of the victim named Suwardi (62). When in action, the perpetrators did it by cutting the zinc shop.
"The perpetrators did it to get money for their daily needs and to buy crystal methamphetamine," said Kompol Firdaus, Monday, February 7.
Kompol Firdaus explained that the incident began on Monday, January 17, in the morning, when the victim came to his shop which is located at Jalan Binjai KM 12/Jalan Pembangunan, Mulyorejo, Sunggal. At that time, the victim saw that the zinc lid of his shop had been opened.
"Then the victim checked into another section and it turned out that the CCTV had disappeared and the goods sold in the shop had disappeared. For this incident, the reporter felt aggrieved and reported it to the Medan Police," he explained.
As a result of the theft, the victim lost several items, such as a television set and a drill. Upon receiving the report, the police immediately launched an investigation.
"From the results of the investigation, it was known that there were 2 perpetrators. On Saturday, February 6, at dawn, officers carried out further investigations regarding the whereabouts of the perpetrators of the theft," he said.
From the follow-up investigation, the police found out that the perpetrator MD, who is a drug recidivist, was on Jalan Binjai KM 12, to be precise at the martabak shop. From that location, the police immediately secured MD.
"From the interrogation, the perpetrator MD admitted to stealing with 2 of his colleagues, DHK and RS alias E. Then the officers moved to DHK's residence and secured it," he said.
Then, from the results of the interrogation, it was found out that the stolen items from the shop were 3 units of drills and 5 grinders. The stolen goods were given to someone with the initials J to sell.
However, when they searched J's residence, officers were unable to find him. Officers only found 1 unit of drill tool. In addition, the two perpetrators also admitted that the stolen television was sold to S.
"When the team carried out developments related to the sale of stolen proceeds, the MD perpetrators tried to fight against the officers and were forced to take measurable decisive action," he said.
To account for their actions, the suspects have been detained at the Medan Polrestabes Criminal Investigation Unit.
