Update On COVID-19 As Of September 7: Positivity Rate Continues To Increase, Now 13.9 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 18,412 specimens were examined, as a result, there were 2,880 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 196,989 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Monday, September 7.

Based on data development, the percentage of positive cases based on test results or the positivity rate continues to increase. Today, the positivity rate reached 13.9 percent.

The increase in this figure was seen from the positivity rate on September 5 of 13.7 percent, then the positivity rate on September 6 of 13.8 percent.

Today, there are 2,077 cases recovered, so that a total of 140,652 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 105 people and a total of 8,130 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,046 new cases and a total of 47,379 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Furthermore, East Java has 307 new cases with a total of 35,941 cases. Central Java with 264 new cases and a total of 15,615 cases. West Java with 204 new cases and a total of 12,709 cases. Then, Bali has 173 new cases and a total of 6,385 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 662 cases recovered. Followed by East Java with an increase of 345 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 163 recovered cases, and Bali with an increase of 94 recovered cases.

Then, there are 8 provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces are Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Jambi, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, and East Nusa Tenggara.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 2,452,164. In detail, 2,407,391 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 44,773 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 89,992 people. Currently, 489 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
