45 Students In Pekalongan Positive For COVID-19, Live Isolation At School

PEKALONGAN - The Pekalongan City COVID-19 Task Force, Central Java, informed that 45 students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Insan Cendekia (MAN IC) had tested positive for COVID-19 and had to undergo special isolation at the school.

Pekalongan City Police Chief, AKBP Wahyu Rohadi, said that to prevent the spread of COVID-19, teaching and learning activities were carried out online.

"Currently, 45 MAN IC students are still undergoing special isolation for COVID-19 at the school. Then for the next five days and quick tests will be carried out on them," he said when contacted in Pekalongan as reported by Antara, Monday, February 7.

According to him, his party has carried out a review of the school to ensure the progress of the health conditions of the MAN IC students who were exposed to COVID-19.

"We are checking the health of MAN IC school residents who have been confirmed to have COVID-19 in an effort to ensure security and order as well as the current situation of the isolation rooms for students that have been prepared by the school," he said.

The 45 students consisted of 25 male students and 20 female students. Then one teacher who is now in self-isolation at home. Wahyu Rohadi advised the school to implement strict health protocols to anticipate the transmission of COVID-19 because people currently tend to ignore the prokes.

"To the school's COVID-19 Task Force, we urge you to comply with the health protocol and 5M discipline, namely maintaining distance, wearing masks, washing hands, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility," he said.

The Principal of MAN IC Pekalongan City Khoirul Anam said that his party would continue to support the acceleration of handling COVID-19 at the MAN IC school.

"We, together with the police, health centers, and hospitals will continue to accelerate the healing of students. Likewise, we have not allowed parents to see the children," he said.
