In Order For The Islamic Finance Industry To Be Stronger, It Is Easy For Children To Be Involved
JAKARTA - Indonesia has great potential in developing the Islamic finance industry. But unfortunately, there are not many qualified human resources (HR) to make this happen.
Based on these conditions, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) together with the Bangun Sejahtera Mitra Umat Foundation (BSMU Foundation) are committed to producing prospective leaders with character, global insight and trust through the BSI Scholarship program. This program ultimately aims to further optimize the potential and strengthen the Indonesian Islamic finance industry.
The collaboration between BSI and the BSMU Foundation is contained in a coaching program for BSI Achievement Scholarship recipients or awardees, namely "Learn with Expert". The main target of this event is to develop the insight of the awardees, especially on the specific theme of developing the Islamic finance industry through special discussions with national leaders.
The Board of Trustees of the BSM Ummah Foundation and Director of Sales & Distribution of BSI Anton Sukarna said, in accordance with BSI's vision to become the fifth largest bank in Indonesia and the top 10 global banks in terms of market capitalization, strong young talents are needed. "Through the BSI Scholarship, BSI together with the BSM Ummah Foundation are trying to find young talents who can optimize the development and literacy of the sharia economy," said Anton in a written statement, Sunday, February 6.
The BSI Scholarship "Learn with Expert" coaching program is expected to be an insight awardee to find passion and motivation. In the long term, it is hoped that the BSI Scholarship awardee can also become part of the Islamic banking symbol for the community.
BSI President Commissioner, Adiwarman Azwar Karim explained that in the next few years, Indonesia will enter the top 5 of the world economy. "From the potential of the world's top five economies, Indonesia is one of the countries with a Muslim majority," said Adiwarman.
In addition, in recent years, the launching of sharia services by several institutions will also make sharia finance stronger. This will require superior human resources in the field of sharia, one of which is through the BSI Scholarship.
The Executive Director of the BSMU Foundation, Sukoriyanto Saputro said that with the presence of the BSI Scholarship program managed by the BSM Ummah Foundation and BSI, it is hoped that future leaders will be able to contribute to the Islamic economic industry. "This program is also intended to support the realization of Indonesia's sharia economic master plan as the world's leading Islamic economic center," said Sukoriyanto.
The BSI Scholarship program, which was launched in early December 2021, aims to provide equal distribution of undergraduate education. In addition, this program aims to form young leaders who are ready to enter the Islamic economic industry.
Through this scholarship, the BSM Ummah Foundation and BSI hope to be able to prepare the best talents in the development of the Islamic economy and finance industry, both at the national and international levels.
