Messi Is Wishy-washy, Has No Stand

JAKARTA - Lionel Messi criticized how Barcelona run their sports program.

The Argentina captain gave absolutely no credit to the planning or organization that had taken place at the Camp Nou. In an interview with Goal last Friday, Messi criticized the sporting project.

"I want to compete at the highest level, win titles, compete in the Champions League," Messi was quoted as saying on the YouTube channel Goal, Monday, September 7.

"You can win or lose in it, because it's very difficult, but you have to compete," Messi continued.

"At least compete and let us not fall apart in Rome, Liverpool, Lisbon."

All the defeats, continued Messi, made him think of leaving Barcelona.

“I want a project to win and win titles with the club, to continue to maintain the title of how legendary Barcelona is.

"The reality is that there were no projects or anything for a long time, they juggled and covered the holes as time went on."

But the truth is, Messi had a different view when talking to RAC1 in October 2019.

"The defeat of Roma and Liverpool is not the fault of the project," he said at the time. "It was our fault."

Another contradiction in terms of his comments is when he decided to leave.

"Throughout the year I have told the president that I want to leave, that it is time to look for new goals and new directions in my career," he said in an interview with Goal.

However, in February 2020 he told Mundo Deportivo that he had no plans to leave.

"I never thought of leaving," he said later. "If the club wants me here, no problem."
