12 Players And 3 PSIS Semarang Officials Confirmed Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - A total of 12 players and three PSIS Semarang officials tested positive for COVID-19. This made the team nicknamed Laskar Mahesa Jenar have to lose a number of important players when playing against Persik Kediri.

This news was confirmed by Alfan Nur Asyhar as the PSIS team doctor. The players and officials who were exposed to the corona virus were confirmed based on the results of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on Saturday, February 5.

"Until today, after the regular PCR examination last night, 12 players were confirmed positive and three officials were also confirmed positive," said Alfan in a statement on the club's official website.

Currently, 15 team components who have tested positive have been isolated. Meanwhile, negative players and officials have immediately filled one room each.

"For those who are positive, stay calm, take immunity steps such as independent exercise so that later after being declared negative, the condition remains healthy and fit," continued Alfan.

Meanwhile, PSIS CEO Yoyok Sukawi conveyed his response to the Covid-19 storm that was befalling Laskar Mahesa Jenar.

According to him, with the existing squad, PSIS will continue to play in accordance with the regulations set by PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB).

"PSIS will follow the existing regulations. Please pray for all residents of Semarang, Panzer Biru, and Snex so that the remaining PSIS players can show their maximum performance against Persik and still get three points in the match this afternoon, "said Yoyok Sukawi.

PSIS is scheduled to meet Persik Kediri in week 23 of the Indonesian League 1 on Sunday, February 6. The match was held at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali.
