Male Corpse Found At Water Gate In Malang River
JAKARTA - An unidentified male corpse was found stuck in the Kalimalang water channel, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Monday, September 7. The man's body was caught in Aetra Water Gate, Jalan Raya Kali Malang.
Firefighters from the Kalimalang water channel, Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta were immediately dispatched to evacuate the corpse.
"Receive the news of the incident at 10:31 WIB from the reporting officer of the Duren Sawit Police," said East Jakarta Damkar Operations Section Head, Gatot Sulaeman.
He could not confirm the identity of the corpse. However, the man who is estimated to be 30-40 years old is wearing an orange t-shirt and black long jeans.
"The gender is male. There is no identity. The age is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years with brown skin," he said.
Officers have evacuated the body to the bank of the water channel. Then they were taken by a Black Cross ambulance to the Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).
The evacuation involved five firefighters. Officers tied a rope to one part of the corpse and pulled it towards the riverbank. "The evacuation begins at 10:41 WIB and finishes at 11.43 WIB," he said.
