Examined By Komjak, The Former Jamintel Admitted That He Had Called Djoko Tjandra When He Was On The Run

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel) Attorney General's Office Jan Samuel Maringka claimed to have called Djoko Tjandra while on the run. Jan Maringka made two calls to Djoko Tjandra when he was still Jamintel.

"It is true that we have asked for information from those concerned and those in question submitted their statements last Thursday. The point is communicating on July 2 and 4, if I'm not mistaken, "said the head of the Prosecutor's Commission (Komjak) Barita Simanjuntak, confirmed by VOI, Monday, September 7.

Jan Maringka in his statement admitted that he only asked Djoko Tjandra to surrender. At that time, Djoko Tjandra was still a fugitive in the case of the transfer of claim rights to Bank Bali.

"The point is that based on the information concerned the communication was carried out in the context of an intelligence operation to order the convicted person to be fugitive at that time, Joko Tjandra, to carry out and carry out the court's decision and be executed," said Barita.

Jan Maringka was also transferred from the position of Jamintel based on Presidential Decree Number 134 / TPA of 2020 dated July 30, 2020 concerning Appointments from and in Middle High Leadership Positions within the Attorney General's Office. Jamintel was later held by Sunarta.

Meanwhile, Djoko Tjandra is currently facing three cases at the National Police and the AGO. At Bareskrim Polri, Djoko Tjandra was named a suspect in two cases, namely the creation of fake travel documents and the removal of red notices.

Meanwhile, at the Attorney General's Office, Djoko Tjandra was named a suspect for allegedly giving bribes to prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari.

Djoko Tjandra allegedly asked for assistance in processing a fatwa from the Supreme Court (MA) so that he would not be executed in the Bank Bali collection rights case.

"The suspects are suspected of having committed an act that has to do with administering a fatwa. About the JST suspect (Joko Soegiarto Tjandra), how do you get a fatwa so that he doesn't get executed. So the conspiracy is not to be executed by the prosecutor, asking for a fatwa to the Supreme Court, "said Kapuspenkum AGO Hari Setiyono, Thursday, August 27.

It is suspected that the attempt to obtain a fatwa to the Supreme Court occurred between November 2019 and January 2020. From the results of the investigation, it is known that the attempt to request a fatwa so that Djoko Tjandra would not be executed failed.

"It didn't work out," said Hari.
