Jokowi Orders The Ministry Of Health To Arrange COVID-19 Tests In The Regions So That They Are Not Lame

JAKARTA - The unequal number of COVID-19 tests between one region and another in Indonesia is the concern of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Jokowi asked the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) to make a good planning design regarding the test. The goal is that there is no imbalance between regions in the number of COVID-19 tests.

"I asked the Ministry of Health for this test business, I asked for a really good planning design," said Jokowi when he opened the cabinet plenary session broadcast on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat, Monday, September 7.

"Don't let me see that there are provinces that have tested very high but there are provinces whose testing is still very low," Jokowi added.

The comprehensive planning design must include various things such as calculating the number of laboratories that must exist in a province and the number of reagents that must be distributed.

In addition, Jokowi also touched on the laboratory network strategy. According to him, this strategy is important and not only based on the administrative area but must be designed properly and completely clearly.

"We need this planning so that later we can see which positive cases are in which region or province," he said.

Jokowi emphasized this planning for attention. Moreover, Jokowi has spoken several times about the main focus on health.

"Do not let us have health matters. The COVID-19 matter has not been handled properly. We have started, restarting in the economic sector is also very dangerous," he concluded.
