Task Force: Confirmation Cases Of COVID-19 In Bantul Soar To 91 People
BANTUL - The COVID-19 Task Force stated that confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) jumped by increasing by 91 people. The day before, there were an addition of 49 people.
Based on data from the Bantul COVID-19 Task Force, quoted by Antara on Saturday, February 5, it said the additional new cases came from Banguntapan District, 29 people, Bantul 22 people, Sewon nine people, Pleret five people, and Kasihan five people.
Then from Bambanglipuro four people, Kretek also four people, the rest from Pundong, Pajangan, and Imogiri three each, as well as Pandak two people, and Sedayu two people.
In the same period there were confirmed cases of COVID-19 that recovered three people, from Banguntapan, Bantul, and Imogiri sub-districts. Then two confirmed cases of death were recorded from Imogiri District.
With the addition of daily cases, the cumulative total positive cases of COVID-19 in Bantul so far have reached 57,734 people, with a recovery rate of 55,882 people, while the total number of deaths recorded was 1,573 people.
Thus, the number of active COVID-19 cases or patients who are still infected and undergoing self-isolation or quarantine at the Bantul regional hospital as of Saturday, February 5 rose to 279 people.
The active cases based on the patient's domicile spread across 17 sub-districts in Bantul, with the highest number in Banguntapan recorded 85 people, followed by Bantul 45 people, and Kasihan 35 people.
Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih reminded the public to return to discipline in implementing health protocols, considering that transmission cases continue to increase amid the threat of the third wave of COVID-19 due to the Omicron variant.
"Currently we are facing an increase in COVID-19 cases, and we must be aware of the threat of the Omicron variant wave, I urge the people of Bantul not to be too anxious and worried about facing current conditions while maintaining health protocols," he said.
In addition to health protocols by wearing masks, washing hands with soap, maintaining distance and avoiding crowds and reducing mobility, the district government also invites people to always implement a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS).
