One Comorbid COVID-19 Patient In Sampit, Central Kalimantan Flown To Surabaya
SAMPIT - RSUD dr Murjani Sampit, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan, referred a COVID-19 patient to a hospital in Surabaya, East Java, for more intensive treatment.
"The patient was referred at the request of the family. The patient has comorbidities (comorbidities) so they need to receive more intensive treatment," said the Acting Head of the East Kotawaringin Health Service, Umar Kaderi in Sampit, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5.
The last few days Dr Murjani Hospital was suffering from COVID-19. Today one of them was referred to a hospital in Surabaya.
The patient referred was a 74-year-old man. The elderly person has been treated at the Murjani Hospital since last Thursday, February 3 because his condition requires treatment because there are comorbidities or comorbidities.
The family requested that the patient be referred to a hospital in Surabaya so that it could be treated more intensively. Based on these considerations and taking into account the patient's condition, the hospital agreed that the patient was referred.
The patient was flown from Haji Asan Sampit Airport at around 10.00 WIB. Evacuation of patients is carried out according to strict health protocols by officers.
"Hopefully the patient's condition will improve and recover soon, as well as other patients," Umar hoped.
The increasing transmission of COVID-19 in East Kotawaringin must be a serious concern for all parties. Health protocols must be implemented to prevent the transmission of the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, the Head of the General Services Division at the Dr Murjani Sampit Hospital, Drg Ari Wijayanto, said that currently his party is treating two people with COVID-19. The two patients were treated in separate isolation rooms.
"A male patient is being treated in the Seroja isolation room, while the other is a female patient who is being treated in maternity isolation," said Ari.
The results of the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test by RSUD dr Murjani found that there were 10 residents infected with COVID-19. Eight people underwent self-isolation while two other people had to be treated at the dr Murjani Sampit Hospital.
The increasing number of COVID-19 cases in this area has made hospitals increase their vigilance. Isolation rooms are also prepared if there are COVID-19 sufferers who must receive treatment.
A total of 99 beds have been prepared for handling COVID-19 in East Kotawaringin. The number consists of 78 beds at the Islamic Center Clinic (KIC) and 21 beds at dr Murjani Hospital. The isolation capacity at Dr Murjani Hospital consists of 12 beds in the Seroja room, five beds in the Seruni VK and four beds in the Perinatology room.
