Social Minister Risma Asks Perpetrators Of Child Abuse And Sexual Abuse In Sidoarjo To Be Severely Punished
SIDOARJO - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini gave serious attention to cases of violence against women and children, one of which was the case of a girl in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java.
"This case is very serious. It includes sexual abuse, abuse, and torture of children. I hope the law is enforced fairly. Give the maximum punishment for the perpetrators so that they have a deterrent effect on anyone," said the Minister of Social Affairs at the Sidoarjo Police Headquarters quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 5th.
Risma said the Ministry of Social Affairs had deployed psychologists and a Psychosocial Support Service Team to carry out "trauma healing" for victims and provide other needed assistance. Together with other relevant agencies, the Ministry of Social Affairs ensures that the victim is in a safe place.
"We have placed the victim in a safe location now," he said.
Officers, he said, carried out "trauma healing" in a measured and careful manner because the victim was not completely free from trauma.
"The victim is still silent. Maybe the psychological condition is still traumatized," said the Minister of Social Affairs.
The Ministry of Social Affairs, he said, ensures that the state is present by helping victims to ensure their future.
"We have prepared for the future and plans for the future for the victim and her mother," he said.
The Minister of Social Affairs asked all parties to work together to ensure that such cases do not recur.
